SteriTech™, the active ingredient of SteriTech products, is a Quaternary Ammonium Compound (QAC) based formulation. QACs are considered the safest chemical disinfectants used, due to their low toxic nature, their good material compatibility, and odorlessness. One major drawback is however often linked to QACs, and that is their restricted spectrum to vegetative bacteria and enveloped viruses; a matter usually bypassed by the synergetic combination of QACs and other disinfecting agents like alcohols, aldehydes and phenols, leading to a formulation with superior spectrum of effect and increased activity but relatively lower safety.
SteriTech™, on the other hand, relies on the synergistic combination of multi-layered, multi-chained C12-C18 quaternary ammonium compounds with very low concentrations of tributyl tin oxide (TBTO). This advanced formulation empowers SteriTech products with all the high safety benefits of the QACs along with a broad spectrum activity, rapidity of action and residual activity; properties that are the most sought for in any market.
SteriTech™ formulation and products have been extensively tested in various internationally accredited and government approved independent laboratories in the US, UK, and South Africa. Tests corroborate that SteriTech ™ is a broad spectrum anti-microbial agent effective against a wide range of pathogens*:
Bactericidal: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Chlamydia trachomatis, Enterobacter cloacae, Actinomyces naeslundii, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Streptococcus faecalis & mutans, Lactobacillus leichmanii & paracasei, Enterococcus hirae, Escherichia coli, Coliforms, MRSA, Salmonella typhi & choleraesius, Bacillus subtilis & cereus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
